Guelph Police responded to 58 Derry St. Apartment A due to a call regarding suspicious males in a black VW Jetta with dark tinted windows that were breaking into apartment A. The 2 males were seen trying to pry the window open as well as picking the lock of the door to apartment A. The 2 males succeeded in gaining entry into the apartment. They left shortly before Guelph Police arrived.
It was learned that the 2 males had permission to "break in" as the tenant was asleep and he was ok with them coming in. Guelph Police left the premises and reported that the male tenant was now asleep "from doing meth all night". Guelph police encouraged residents to keep calling about any suspicious activity at this address.
On Wednesday August 9th, the tenant of apartment A was outside screaming on the driveway that his apartment had been broken into and his TV and things had been stolen. When Guelph Police arrived, he informed them that he knew who had stolen his things and that they were his friends driving a black car. Guelph Police left the scene shortly afterwards.
